some light reading
been collecting links in this "post HW" film/tv landscape. this story is getting bigger - expanding to other industries - and to politics. the cess pool is being dumped and it stinks. A LOT.
(...but i'm sad that i've heard of one man in politics, who has killed himself, in the UK, since he was accused by 3 women. i feel horrible for his family who have been blindsided by the accusations and the death within a few short days....)
part of the reason why i'm trying to be careful about how i am writing about this stuff. i have only publically named two people so far. today i will update one of my previous posts and add the name of the person who abused me, in the work place, for almost 3 yrs. i reported it. again. today. i reported it when it was happening so many damn times and NOTHING HAPPENED.
what a hard fucking email to write. after i sent it, i thought of two other DGC Ontario (active members) that i have seen sexually harass other people on set and in the office. but, compared to the other people i reported today (12 DGC Ontario members, 1 current staff member, and 1 former staff member) - those two people i forgot to add to my list - they did bad things. but, not as bad as the people i reported today. which is fucking sad because sexually harassing crew (especially when you are the PM or 1st AD, as these two people are, respectively) is fucking bullshit and shouldn't be allowed, EVER.
i will be sending a couple of other emails in the next few days, to finish reporting all the people i've witnessed being abusive in Film Ontario to all the powers that be. and then, i will start following up with all the people i've reported this information to - to find out - what is next.
